3L's, Tell me about your student loans
When I started law school I estimated I would only have 25k out in loans. It turns out I'm closer to 45k. I hope to pay it off within 3 years of working, 2 if I really live frugally.

Yea... that's less than a lot of us are taking out in one year alone.hous wrote:When I started law school I estimated I would only have 25k out in loans. It turns out I'm closer to 45k. I hope to pay it off within 3 years of working, 2 if I really live frugally.

You're golden man. I've got 200K, a wife and three kids. IBR is the way to go for now.
I am one of the lucky ones though. I have a job with a healthy base salary and commissions as soon as I start working. I also will be provided clients by the firm I am at on day one. Just waiting on those bar results.

I don't have a job offer like you though. I only have one offer and they offered me 60k, but honestly I'm just glad to have a job lined up before I graduate and I can do a lot with 60k.peeweeherman wrote:You're golden man. I've got 200K, a wife and three kids. IBR is the way to go for now.

Yeah, but to make a salary more than your total debt is very comforting. You will have it paid off in no time. Me, I'll be saddled with debt for years, unless that golden case walks through the door that pays all my bills. But, let's be honest, how often does that happen? I mostly feel sorry for those with 100K+ in debt with no job lined up and/or with no intention of practicing law.
