Please share your resources (briefs/outlines) on TLS Wiki:

Looking forward to hearing your ideas!
edit: You can upload the files easily here: http://files.mylsn.info

Re: TLS Wiki: Course Resources Discussion
I think this is a great idea, but how should it work? Are we (1) uploading our independent documents Googledoc style? Copypastaing (2) the text? Or crowdsourcing (3) a single, all-encompassing document?
If 1, we'll need a way to sort them by quality and usefulness.
If 2, that's going to be a giant wiki page.
If 3, That'd be awesome but really difficult.
ETA: Not sure if I'm on track with these concerns, but there they are anyway.

What do you think would be best?
My initial thought is that (1) uploading individual docs seems like it would look the cleanest and would be the easiest to navigate.

I agree. I think, though, that we'd need some crowdsourced system to assess quality over time as people actually put them to work. But I'm not sure that's possible. I wish I knew more about Wikis and what they could do.Nova wrote:What do you think would be best?

Reiterating my support for this though. Long overdue on TLS IMO, and it'll make this site EVEN MORE useful than it already is.

Re: TLS Wiki: Course Resources Discussion
I just linked to my K's outline. Can somebody click it ASAP and tell me if it outs me. If it doesn't, then Google Drive shared to anyone with the link will work just fine for hosting provided you remove all identifying metadata from the Word document.
ETA: looks like Google Docs ate my beautiful formatting.

Does it out me at all? My e-mail address doesn't show up in the top right corner of your screen like it does on mine, does it?brotherdarkness wrote:Works. Okay cool. TY. Google Drive is solid, then.
FYI, to remove metadata:
1. Open the Word Document and save a new copy to upload.
2. Click the File tab at the top.
3. Click Info in the drop-down list.
4. Click the Check for Issues button.
5. Click Inspect Document in the drop-down list.
6. Save the document if so prompted.
7. Make sure the Document Properties and Personal Information box is checked and then click Inspect.
8. Click the Remove All button under the Document Properties and Personal Information header in the generated report.
9. Click Close in the dialog box.
10. Save it again.

I vote fuck doing 1L outlines. There's millions of those freely available. Upper-level shit is where it's at.
And let's make them wiki style.

Re: TLS Wiki: Course Resources Discussion
If any of y'all want a simple way to upload files, I put up http://files.mylsn.info
Please don't abuse this - only use it for outlines. Right now it limits uploads to docx, doc, and pdf files with a max size of about 1MB. Let me know if these are too constricting for anyone and I can change 'em.
