LEEWS
So, I read all the threads regarding LEEWS, and it seems a bunch of people both recommend it and say it sucks. I wanted to get a poll going to see how many people took it and liked it/thought it helped for 1L and how many people took it and hated it/thought it didn't help at all.
Please write which prep books you do recommend if any (GTM, E&E, etc). Also please write when you read the books: 0L, 1L, or beyond. Thank you all.

Are you referring to these:patogordo wrote:i mostly thought it sucked but the note-taking advice was sorta helpful. it's good to have a coherent exam-writing strategy and LEEWS is ok for that but there is way better advice on tls

Re: LEEWS
I'm confused bc most of these guides recommend LEEWS as one of the best 0L resources. Specifically Talon and Arrow whose guides seem to be the best. GTM is prob equally recommended, but LEEWS is up there as the "must-do" prep.patogordo wrote:http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2#p3190328

Re: LEEWS
I found it helpful. Yes - it takes forever, and he goes into a ridiculous amount of detail. But if you are totally unsure about what to do, it's kind of nice to have him hold your hand and walk you through it.
I eventually ended up abandoning a lot of the specific strategies he advocates, but I used the gist of his lessons in all of my exams and it worked well.

Re: LEEWS
LEEWS probably works better for some people than others. I went through it right before I began law school and found it useful. His note-taking and outlining strategies in particular helped me to work much more efficiently than I would have otherwise.
