MBE RESULTS - RELEASE DATE?
Just a couple of questions. I hope someone has answers:
1. Which state releases their MBE scores the earliest?
2. Does NY release MBE scores separately from the bar result scores?

Re: MBE RESULTS - RELEASE DATE?
It's up to your state, but typically you just your pass/fail/score at the same time. NY is like that. CA is. IL is.

Re: MBE RESULTS - RELEASE DATE?
Earliest release is 4 weeks (North Carolina), then 5 weeks (Arkansas for both Feb. & July & Pennsylvania's February scores) from the test date.

Re: MBE RESULTS - RELEASE DATE?
That's helpful. I heard other states like Arizona get their MBE results about a month after the exam and the results include the national average scaled score.

Arizona releases bar exam results 9 weeks after the test.

Re: MBE RESULTS - RELEASE DATE?
I was asking about the MBE results. As far as I know, Arizona releases MBE scores separately about 4 weeks after the exam. Anyone know if any other state releases them earlier? Curious to know the curve this admin.

Re: MBE RESULTS - RELEASE DATE?
I don't think this is correct. AFAIK Arizona just releases results in October. I've never heard of MBE results being released earlier/separate from general results.jtx86 wrote:I was asking about the MBE results. Are you asking whether they will give you an MBE score either before or after they tell you that you have passed or not? If so, no.jtx86 wrote:2. Does NY release MBE scores separately from the bar result scores?
Additionally, I don't believe NY will give you the actual MBE score if you have passed (not positive on that though).

Re: MBE RESULTS - RELEASE DATE?
I have been browsing other forums and apparently the general consensus is that Arizona gets MBE results about one month after the exam. I can't find a direct link, but at least two other law school forums have confirmed this.
In addition, this approach is not only limited to AZ (apparently) - check out what I found:
http://www.pabarexam.org/pdf/statistics ... /f2011.pdf
PA releases their MBE results in April (including national MBE average).

Re: MBE RESULTS - RELEASE DATE?
That PA breakdown is post-bar passage results, because it includes essay scores and bar passage rates. It's not something that goes out before people get their overall passage rates.
(Re references to states issuing MBE "early" - states often release bar passage info earlier than the official listed date. If you're talking about the all4jds forum link about AZ releasing "MBE" scores "early," that doesn't mean what you think it means - it means AZ results went out early, and people are just talking about MBE scores because that's what they're interested in. When they talk about AZ releasing MBE scores separately, they only mean that AZ, unlike some states, tells you the specific score.)

Re: MBE RESULTS - RELEASE DATE?
Everyone should have access to their MBE score because at least two jurisdictions (Minnesota & DC) will admit attorneys based on a certain minimum MBE score & good standing.
With respect to Arizona's score release practices, you could contact the Arizona State Bar/State Supreme Court for an answer.

Yeah, but I think for some states you have to ask the national bar people to release the score expressly for this reason - not all states give you the specific score.CanadianWolf wrote:Everyone should have access to their MBE score because at least two jurisdictions (Minnesota & DC) will admit attorneys based on a certain minimum MBE score & good standing.

Yeah, you're right. I just caught that. I guess PA and AZ just release their scores relatively early compared to other states.A. Arizona releases late, not early, & Pennsylvania only releases "early" for February results.

Re: MBE RESULTS - RELEASE DATE?
AZ USED TO release the scores earlier, and then tell you if you passed. I took in July and did not find out if I passed until the first week of October, which I thought was a while for the low number of takers.

That's not the way it works it many states. They will simply tell you whether or not you have met the threshold, usually for a fee.CanadianWolf wrote:Everyone should have access to their MBE score because at least two jurisdictions (Minnesota & DC) will admit attorneys based on a certain minimum MBE score & good standing.

Re: MBE RESULTS - RELEASE DATE?
Curious as to which states will not reveal MBE scores; can you elaborate ? Is it even relevant whether or not particular states withhold MBE scores as the testing service would report to all jurisdictions, not any state bar. Who "owns" or "controls" MBE scores ? The test-taker, the state bar/supreme court or the testing service ?

Illinois, Tennessee are few that do not reveal the exact score if you pass.CanadianWolf wrote:Curious as to which states will not reveal MBE scores; can you elaborate ?
