Indiana Tech Email

Post by lawstudent_87 » Fri Feb 28, 2014 6:10 pm

Below is an actual email that is currently being sent to students in "pre-law societies" at major undergraduate universities. Thoughts?

What: Take a few minutes to learn about Indiana's fourth Law School--located in Fort Wayne: http://law.indianatech.edu/admissions/.

Who: Crystal Ridgley, Director for Law Admissions

Why: Indiana Tech wants YOU!! Indiana Tech needs YOU!! They just admitted their first class last year. As a new school, they are not yet ranked--but are sure to move up quickly. There is much financial aid available to students who have done well as undergraduates. If your numbers are at or above their medians, you are likely to receive an excellent financial aid package. Full tuition is $29,500.

Application is free--expand your horizons!!

LSAT Median: 146
GPA Median: 3.1
Faculty to student ratio an incredible 2.5/1.

When: noon to 1:30, Tuesday, [redacted]
Where: [redacted]

We hope to see you there!!

Indiana's fourth Law School
I love that this is their claim to fame.
LSAT Median: 146
Mother of god.

And from the website:
Unlike larger law schools, you won’t have to wander the halls or worry about getting lost looking for faculty to talk with. If you didn’t get a chance to talk to your professor in class, make sure you stop by his or her office.
Come again? At other schools do we just wander aimlessly hoping to run into the professor instead of going to their office? hahaha

Indiana has such a small market and does NOT need a fourth law school, why...

Because the students at the other three are still wandering the halls looking for faculty to talk to.

I guess when Indiana Tech ignores you it might be time to shut it down.

Here's hoping Dean Alexander sees this thread and makes another appearance.

You misunderstood bro. The Faculty to student ratio is 2.5/1.

That's 2 students in a classroom with roughly 5 men staring at them.
hahaha I originally thought that but then was like, "No way is that remotely appealing or plausible"

I'll say. I am very curious to know what the numbers for the C/O 2017 will be. LS applicant numbers are still falling fast. The C/O 2016 debuted at 28 students, according to the ITLS site: http://law.indianatech.edu/admissions/consumerinfo/

Their GPA rounding was also a bit generous in their email there.

I think it says something when an academic instution rounds the opposite way. 3.03 somehow becomes 3.1. I guess if 22% of people get jobs they can just round it up to 50% for all intents and purposes.
