I am thinking of taking the Washington State Bar.
Does anybody have a sense of how the WLC-specific component is? (open-book, need 80% in 4 hours). Is it like the MPRE/study-for-an-hour-or-two-to-be-really-safe, or more like, say, the New York bar exam essay questions where you really should study a good bit going in?
And does anyone have any good or favorite resources for study of the WLC component? (Sample questions, etc...)

it is like traffic school. Boring, easy and a complete waste of time. You can take it as many times as you want and it is entirely online.
The WSBA has all the materials you need on the website, for free.

Re: Washington State Bar Exam Law Component
Thanks for the info in the replies to the original post. I had a few other questions as I am about to the take the WLC. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
1. If you don' pass the WLC, do you have to take the entire test over or are you allowed to just take the questions over that you didn't get correct?
2. Other than reading the outlines, does anyone have any other strategies to prepare for the WLC?
3. Are there sample questions out there for the WLC?
Again, thanks for any help anyone can provide!

I took it cold without looking at the prep materials once and passed on the first try. Frankly, it's more of a test of how well you can use control+f than how well you know the law.
I really, really wouldn't worry about it.
