NCBE: MEE/UBE will no longer test Article 3 of UCC in 2015
The NCBE is removing Article 3 (Commercial Paper) from the UBE and MEE in 2015.
"Effective with the February 2015 bar exam, Negotiable Instruments (Uniform Commercial Code Article 3 and the excerpts of Article 4, Bank Collections) will no longer be tested on the Multistate Essay Examination (MEE)."
Do you think they would test it in 2014 even after they decided to scrap it?
For those of you who have never dealt with Article 3, it REALLY sucks.

I agree with the Themis comment. For Art 3/9, it can be expected that most people have never encountered either subject until the bar and a little context and background is needed to understand what the hell to do when you get a UCC 3/9 question.
I think it would be rather chickenshit for the bar to test Art 3 when they announce they are doing away with it. I am pretty sure either 3 or 9 will be on the test next week but given this announcement, I am hoping it is Art 9.

Any additional information on this? Article 3/9 are both by far my weakest essay subjects. It's driving me up the wall because unless you know every little nook and cranny of the relevant law, it's virtually impossible to even get the correct ballpark for an answer. Every time I do a practice essay, I'll find the broad issue, go into depth onto it as much as I can, and learn that I totally missed the fact that it's a PMSI by a bank in inventory, and I'm therefore 100% wrong on even the most basic issues.

Kaplan didn't cover Article 3 at all in its study materials this year.

They did for me. You sure your state tests article 3? I don't think your state uses mee.shock259 wrote:Kaplan didn't cover Article 3 at all in its study materials this year.

Oooooo - I get it now. And you're right. NY does not use MEE. Whew.
