looking to transfer to Columbia from T2 -his is my situation Forum

I am sitting on an A, A- and waiting on third grade. I have a biglaw summer position already in place for summer 2014. I would like to transfer to Columbia. Is this possible or a far reaching dream?

Yes it's possible. Several people I know transferred from Cardozo to Columbia after their first year. They were in the top 10%. With your grades it seems like that's where you'll be.

Friend had a 4.3 at a 50-60 rank school. Out at Columbia, and in at Berkely.

good to know.. i called columbia admissions and they said they wait to know second semester grades so I need a repeat performance to have a shot

lol to answer your question "no." They aren't going to accept an applicant with three grades in one semester from some random TT school...

Transferring is difficult to predict in TT land because schools consider the rank of your old law school. Talk to your CSO and see what you need by the end of next semester
