adverse possession of federal or public land

can someone give me a hypo about how one could adversely possess federal or gov land?

You cannot adversely possess from the gov't. Simple as that.

The Crown does not take kindly to squatters. Remember, at common law, courts of law were ordained by the Crown. Why would the King's judges give his land away?
