interning during 1L? Forum

So I have the opportunity to intern at a family friends firm my 1L year but I'm thinking it may be too much on my plate to get used to the pace of law school and also intern on the side. But, I'm wondering if it will give me any sort of substantial resume boost conpared to my peers. Thoughts?

Wouldn't recommend it.

First, you probably won't know enough to be all that productive anyway.

Second, grades mean everything. This holds the most true for 1L grades. You're going to need the time. 1L is a rat race, a race in which nobody wins, but what generally matters is just how far you get.


Try to save that option for later if OCI doesn't work out.
