CA Bar Pass Stories?
Anybody here went through or know of people who genuinely felt like they failed the CA Bar Exam on the first try but surprisingly found out they passed?

I've just heard the opposite. People who were sure they passed and failed. But it was always by a small margin. They all passed by their fourth take.
I mean, if you hit all the issues you should be okay.

Re: CA Bar Pass Stories?
My friend (a YLS grad) hardly studied because he had a "I don't know if I want to be a lawyer" crisis during 3L. He completely bombed 2 essays--by bombed I mean he hardly wrote anything--and half-asses 2 others. He said he felt fine on 2. He screwed up a PT by not giving recommendations, but unsure how much that mattered. He's convinced he passed by getting a high score on the MBE due to "a lot of educated guesses" (he knows his score was 145+ because he got it for another bar).
He barely slept and almost didn't go to the third day and genuinely felt like he failed until he got his results. He is certain he just barely passed. He's not one to bullshit or downplay his intelligence either, so I trust his sense of the situation.
