Punk/Alt Students - What's their plan?
At my TTT there's some 3L's with mohawks, pink hair, nose rings, or hand/neck/face tattoos. I'm just wondering what these people think they're going to do with their JD.

The same self destructive tendency that causes someone to do aggressive piercing and tattooing causes them to the JD.

Piercings can be removed. The tattoo issue is a much bigger concern.

It's great because they'll get a couple bonus years of unemployment.dr123 wrote:Their plan was probably just to delay the real world for 3 more yrs.

To be fair, they are at a TTT. Are their employment prospects really that much worse than the guy who come to class in a suit everyday? Seriously, though even if they were the top of their class, law review etc. I can't imagine any firm hiring them due to the tattoos.

Ehh, you can repair gauged ear lobes. Can't imagine it is pleasant though.ajax adonis wrote:Not if you got those piercings in your ear lobes the size of quarters.katjust wrote:Piercings can be removed

You can remove tattoos as well, but it's probably not cheap or pleasant.Birdnals wrote:Ehh, you can repair gauged ear lobes. Can't imagine it is pleasant though.ajax adonis wrote:Not if you got those piercings in your ear lobes the size of quarters.katjust wrote:Piercings can be removed

Become the mayor of LA like Mr. Villagorisa with his People's College of Law degree.nebula666 wrote:What do you think you are going to do with your JD?shepdawg wrote:At my TTT there's some 3L's with mohawks, pink hair, nose rings, or hand/neck/face tattoos. I've chosen to get a visible tattoo (back of neck could be covered by hair, but not always) in order to prevent myself from ever securing legal employment. So, others may have altered their appearance for the same purpose.

I don't think Villaraigosa has a visible tat, piercing, or alternative hairstyle.bizzybone1313 wrote:Become the mayor of LA like Mr. Villagorisa with his People's College of Law degree.nebula666 wrote:What do you think you are going to do with your JD?shepdawg wrote:At my TTT there's some 3L's with mohawks, pink hair, nose rings, or hand/neck/face tattoos. TBF, mohawks, dyed hair, most piercings, and at least back-of-neck tattoos can all be fixed/taken out/covered. They might not plan to job hunt until after the bar and are probably just enjoying their last few months of cosmetic freedom. The people with face tattoos, I dunno what their plan is.... face tattoos have a pretty bad stigma even among people who are tattooed. They might just have terrible judgment.

Why don't you ask them yourself? Oh wait, cause that would make you look like an asshole.shepdawg wrote:At my TTT there's some 3L's with mohawks, pink hair, nose rings, or hand/neck/face tattoos. I'm just wondering what these people think they're going to do with their JD.

Yeah, you're absolutely right. Any sane person who sees you talking to someone with a face tattoo would assume you're an asshole.waxecstatic wrote:Why don't you ask them yourself? Honestly, it annoys me that people can't have any of these things and still be professional. Having a tattoo does not make you any less intelligent. Wearing a suit does not make you more intelligent. One day this country will give up on professional attire. One day a long, long time from now.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
