NYC Local Income Tax Question

Post by hds2388 » Mon Mar 04, 2013 12:53 pm

Was a summer associate in New York City. Lived in Brooklyn for the three months I was there. Am I an NYC resident for purposes of earning this income even though I was there briefly/my permanent domicile (in upstate new york) didn't change?

I obviously wasn't summering in a tax department.

Ok, so kind of a thread hijack, but I have a related question. If you work in NYC, but don't live in NYC, do you have to pay NYC income taxes in addition to New York State taxes, or not?

Thank you.

And it's confirmed: only TTT cities have their own income tax.
