Ethics guidance/help

Post by Mr. Pink » Tue Jan 22, 2013 8:13 pm

I'm writing a paper on misconduct in general, and currently I am having trouble finding some material on misconduct by members of the bar that are NOT practicing law (like a law professor) and practicing attorneys involved in misconduct but where the misconduct does not involve the practice of law.

I have checked through the ABA and some other articles I found, but so far only finding things involving practicing attorneys and law practice misconduct.

Any help to get me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking for an answer, just some guidance on where to look.

Not sure this would be helpful, but did you look at various ABA Ethics Opinions?

I know the Washington state bar posts a pretty detailed breakdown of their misconduct cases by type and outcome. Maybe start there, or someplace else that does. I think Illinois does as well.

I've been trying to search through Westlaw, but I'm horrible at legal research. Trying to find the correct database and search terms is killing me.

I'll try the ethics opinions. And as for the other states, I am looking for more of a "general" trend/ideology. The question presented to me deals with a hypothetical state that is looking to adopt a new Model Rules.
