Does anyone know of a good place to study in Northern VA?
I am trying to study for the bar and am having a hard time finding a good place to study. My main criterion is to find a place that has reliable and free internet access. I bought a hotspot from Verizon and have burned the max plan within a week. Studying at home/at work/at library/coffee shops are not an option b/c of short hours or no internet access. I can't go back to my law school b/c it's not only far, but also doesn't grant internet access, only access to the library. Thanks

Why can't you study at a library? The library would be the best option. Don't steal internet access for too long because other patrons don't like that. I'm merely speaking as a form of common decency. Why are the reasons that you can't do it at home or at the library? Maybe you need to take away the distractions or the other obligations that you have.ok2bedifferent wrote:I am trying to study for the bar and am having a hard time finding a good place to study. Well, what the fuck are you doing "Studying" where you burn through your Verizon (I assume 2gb?) data plan so fast? I assume something stupid like netflix or youtubing songs (grooveshark.com is way better).ok2bedifferent wrote:I am trying to study for the bar and am having a hard time finding a good place to study. He/she is probably watching online bar review lectures.
Register to audit a community college course or something so you can get access to their library and internet (assuming they have them)?

You are correct. I am watching the BARBRI review lectures for the bar. That streaming alone will kill all your monthly data. The library works, but most of them close around 9/10pm and given that I work full-time, it's a rather bleak option. I can't study at home b/c I've got kids and family around all the time, trying to infuse the concept of quiet is impossible.rinkrat19 wrote:He/she is probably watching online bar review lectures.
By Northern VA, I mean Fairfax area. I've thought of registering for some basic class at Mason or NVCC, but I don't think they have a library that is open 24/7.

Establish boundaries with your family. If 9/10pm is too early, you're obviously studying late. If your kids are still awake at that time, they're sure as fuck old enough to understand quiet. Put yourself behind a closed door with isolation headphones on.ok2bedifferent wrote:You are correct. I am watching the BARBRI review lectures for the bar.
