Thoughts on taking 2 finals on the same day
I want to take advanced crim pro next semester, but the final is scheduled for the same day as my bus orgs (corporations) exam, which I am required to take. Bus orgs is from 930am to 130 pm and Crim Pro II is from 6pm to 9 pm. Have any of you guys taken two finals on the same day? How did you feel about it? Is it not a big deal, or should I avoid it?

IT's stupid to do if you have a choice. At least for me, after a 4 hour final im totally done for the day. Our school doesn't even allow you to do it, they reschedule 1 of the exams. See if your school reschedules due to time conflict.

Your school will almost certainly let you reschedule one of those.

I had to do it. It wasn't that bad. Writing an exam is sort of like getting into a zone, and in some respects it made it easier to just stay in that zone and go from one to the next.

Avoid it if you can. Advanced Crim Pro - meh, subject matter might be interesting, but you'll learn what you need to know once you actually begin practicing criminal law anyways (if you ever do practice crim law).
I say avoid it. I'm the same as one of the above - once I've taken an exam, I'm toast for the rest of that day. The entire exam day is a write off, no more studying, whatever, just some booze, video games, then sweet, restless sleep.

Hmmm. I've been to 2 schools and both let students reschedule. I assumed that was par for the course. Maybe not.
The policy should be in your student handbook, OP.

I also get in the zone after an exam. If you are the same way then maybe it won't be so bad, but preparation might be a bit difficult.

Stay away from it. It is not about being in the zone, it is about being so tired that you will miss issues. "Being in the zone" might just mean not realizing how tired you are. Plus, studying for both of them at the same time, also painful.

For what it's worth, I got a B+ on the first one and an A- on the second one.

Nah, the B+ in th first one was as good as an A with the crazy old fuck of a federal judge who taught the class. Fucker actually failed people the prior semester.

I'm pretty wiped after an exam and generally don't do anything the rest of the day. I personally would never do this ever. Why don't you just hold off taking a class for a semester? Unless perhaps you are a 3L in your last semester (or a class is only offered rarely or something, and I don't think Crim Pro or Corporations are rare classes).

I took two on one day drunk once. The parts I remember are one of my favorite, if most physically ill, law school memories.
