Didn't take any practice test last semester. Probably should this time, but in my defense, it was college football season.

What classes do you guys have? Conlaw is a bitch to read for but Crim and Property are actually pretty interesting (and short and to the point!).

pretty similar dose: property, crim, con law and some bullshit like stat interp./legislative class.shumpshump wrote:What classes do you guys have? Conlaw is a bitch to read for but Crim and Property are actually pretty interesting (and short and to the point!).

I have these exact classes. I think Con and Crim are far more interesting than Property, even though my Con professor is dry as hell.shumpshump wrote:What classes do you guys have? Conlaw is a bitch to read for but Crim and Property are actually pretty interesting (and short and to the point!).

Totally serious. I mean, I've only done readings for two classes but so far, the cases are interesting and straight-forward. Fact patterns have been interesting enough as well.soj wrote:You can't be serious.shumpshump wrote:What classes do you guys have? I completely agree actually. Also, just judging on my first week of readings, my elective choice may have been a mistake. What classes do you guys have? Conlaw is a bitch to read for but Crim and Property are actually pretty interesting (and short and to the point!).

Re: OFFICIAL 1L Exam Prep & Motivation Thread (CSWS)
Con law is boring, and I haven't looked at any of my professors old exams yet, but I'm honestly wondering what the point of reading for it is. Seems like it would be even more useless than in other classes, since I imagine the interpretation of the constitution that SCOTUS does is basically what we'll be expected to do on our exams? But who knows, maybe I'm way off. I hate my crim textbook (I think most people in my section, and even my professor, also hate it haha), so reading for that is a bitch. Don't want to out myself by reveling my 2 electives, but one of them doesn't really have much reading, while the other has a lot (but I skim basically everything that isn't the cases).shumpshump wrote:What classes do you guys have? Overall, reading this semester isn't too bad, but also because I'm not really worrying about it at all. Its the 3rd week of my semester though, so I'm thinking in the next week or 2 I should start outlining. Need to improve from last semester (medianpwned, but I'm not TOO worried about that since I'm at Penn), but not really sure where to start since I haven't even gotten my exams back yet.

I am going to like this semester far, far more than last semester. No more K's, Torts, or Civ Pro.

Re: OFFICIAL 1L Exam Prep & Motivation Thread (CSWS)
All 3 of my exams last semester were basically issue spotter essays. This semester, 2 of my 4 finals will be multiple choice, and one of my others is so completely open book/notes that he's letting us use the internet during the exam, which seems kinda crazy haha. No idea if this stuff will favor me or not, but last semester I felt like I had become good at issue spotting and knowing the BLL but probably lost points in my analysis (I'll know for sure after I get my exams back on Monday), so hopefully it will.

Low expectations are key. I knew going into law school that con law would suck. It's occasionally not terrible.stillwater wrote:dudes, con law blows. i feel like it should be interesting but it's... just not.
