hey guys, im getting kind of confused
so we have this whole discussion on min contacts and fair and reasonableness
now we've gone past that into federal court jurisdiction:
1) so federal courts have power that state courts have (wherever they reside). so what is all this mumbo jumbo about Rule 4K
2) for federal courts service is possible... ANYWHERE? does that mean a federal court in alabama can go all the way to alaska and bring him to alabama?
im pretty sure thats not correct right? so what is the deal with this?
sorry this whole federal question for federal court personal jurisdiction is kind of confusing

Re: Jurisdiction for federal courts
1) 4(k)(1) limits federal jurisdiction to be coextensive with the courts in the state they sit in. Though there are exceptions, such as bulge jurisdiction. Federal Crts have the power to exert jurisdiction over parties within 100 miles, even if over state lines, in order to bring them into one suit for the sake of expediency and efficiency.
2) We're beyond Pennoyer brah. If they got those minimum contacts, you can serve them outta state.
