a question about patent bar

Post by brandon-sa » Wed Oct 31, 2012 9:31 am

For those sections changed after AIA, such as section 102, will the questions on the exam testing both old and new laws?

I saw some people at mypatentbar.com reporting that they did not have many new questions, but it seems some sections such as 102 was heavily tested in the exam... Does this mean I need to study both the old and new laws ?

Thanks a lot!

Since January 2012, the USPTO has been gradually phasing in content from the America Invents Act. Thus, you'll likely need to know (1) the old law and (2) some but maybe not all of the new law.

Take a look here: http://www.uspto.gov/ip/boards/oed/exam/index.jsp
If you look at the "source materials", you'll get a sense of what is currently tested.

Best of luck!
