Outlining - Start Fresh or Pre Made???
I am getting ready to start outlining my classes. Should I make it on my own or use another one (commercial or online?)

It depends on what works best for you.
I generally used the outline of an upperclassman for structure and then rewrote in my own words.

1L year I made my own outlines.bk187 wrote:It depends on what works best for you.

2L year, I took outlines from upperclassmen/women, printed them out and made my own notes on them, in class. Used those notes to rewrite my own outline. Suffice to say, 2L was a much more successful year for me.

I did half-and-half for both 1L year, depending on the quality of the old outlines and whether laptops were permitted in class. If they are, it's better to start with a pre-made one because then you can just make a few changes and spend most of your time listening in class rather than typing. Otherwise, make your own. Shorter is better, btw. Top 15-10% overall. Not a difference between either style.LSATNightmares wrote:This.bk187 wrote:It depends on what works best for you.
