Any idea what state has the hardest bar test? TLS lore seems to lean toward CA and NY.

Any idea what states are in the top 5?

California has one of the lowest pass rates, they also have the highest number of people from non-ABA schools taking it. New York also has a ton of people trying to take it, and many of those people are unprepared. I believe the "hardest" is Louisiana since it's 2/3 civil law and the longest.

According to this Top 10 passage rate ranking, CA is the hardest in terms of passage. NY third. What I am not sure of is why all the states are trending with big drops in ’12 passage.

The down trend is because the only 2012 statistics that are available from most states when that chart was made is the Feb 2012 bar. Rates are usually lower in Feb than July.
