For us unskilled bastards who didn't satisfy our Advanced Writing Requirement (AWR) with Law Review submissions, please share what you wrote your paper on, how much research did you do, Independent study, or for a class, and how was the over-all process if you don't mind.
I would like to start my paper sooner than later, and looking for all the input I can get to motivate me!
Best regards,
L2

Re: Share your AWR experiences
Well I need to write a LR note that meets that requirement. I did not get my write-on note published, so I was essentially in the same boat. Make friends with law librarians (not just the student workers) and have them direct you towards material. I found my topic by getting free access (thanks to library) to my state bar association's CLE bank. I just found a topic in the realm I was interested in that was discussed a lot in the CLEs and made sure no one had written the exact same topic I was planning to write.
Now that I am researching and writing it, I realize its a very boring topic that will not likely be published. I can deal with that. At thee end of the day it will meet the writing req.
