lawcrossing.com profile interview request?

Post by dm10er » Wed Aug 08, 2012 4:26 pm

I keep getting requests from a company called LawCrossing.com to profile me for their website (regardless of my membership status, so I wouldn't have to sign up for their service/pay them). Is this legit? It says they're a job board for legal careers. Does anyone have experience using this website?

They are a scam. I tried to use them to find a 1L summer job (at the recommendation of a CSO counselor - gotta hate CSO!). Most of their job listings are invalid. Then they charge you a bunch of money and don't let you cancel your subscription. I called my credit card company and got everything charged back though, after citing their "F" from the BBB in my dispute. So I ended up paying nothing.

That said, I am not sure what profiling would consist of. But for applicants, they are a scam. In fact, any job service that charges applicants--as opposed to being paid for by firms--is likely a scam.
