If you take notes of paper rather than on a laptop...
what do you do with them after the class ends? Do you keep them or get rid of them? Keep some classes but not others? All of my outlines are on my laptop, so if I got rid of my old notes I would still have access to those. I'm moving soon and have like 8 notebooks worth of notes that I am feeling lazy about packing.
Thanks!
(I just realized the title says "of" paper rather than "on" paper and I'm not sure how to change it...whoops.)
Thanks!

What's the point in keeping them? The most liberating feeling after a class was over was disposing of my outlines and other papers that I brought into the exam room. I'd imagine if I took notes by hand, I'd do the same with those.

Thanks all. I couldn't really think of a good reason to keep them, but just wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something before I get rid of them.

Have you used them at all since the classes they were for ended?Richie Tenenbaum wrote:I kept them, but I'm a hoarder.

+1. The contracts note binder is probably right next to the undergrad existentialist thought binder that I haven't wanted to look at in the six years since the course ended.Richie Tenenbaum wrote:I kept them, but I'm a hoarder.

I hand write, then at the end of the night I craft my outlines on my computer. Then I go to sleep so that all that good knowledge can permeate my subconscious.

I have kept every class note that I took since high school.
Whenever people ask me why, I would tell them "If Albert Einstein kept all of his class notes, don't you think they would be worth a fortune by now?"

Taking notes by hand does not increase your typing speed for exam-day.

I'm pretty sure that if you become a law prof at Harvard, they archive all of your law school notes in the special restricted section of the library. At least according to "The Paper Chase"...

Half of my classes disallowed laptops. So I had to take notes by hand and transcribe them into OneNote during class review. I put all my notes in a 3 ring binder along with all the other materials. They are probably just going to sit there forever, but it's nice to look at the binder once in a while. I horde a bit, yes.

I actually did this for my year-long bio class in UG. I got an A, but it was by the far most miserable class I've ever taken. Used it as kindling for bon fires all summer long. Very cathartic.Borhas wrote:Burned them in a pit
