Easiest target because they publish their own rankings and put themselves at number 2. Because of that, when people are looking for a school to use as an example of a horrible shit hole it's often the first one that springs to mind. People know it might not be literally the worst school in the country but it's close enough.

Because of the fact that the school publishes it's own ranking, in which it consistently ranks itself as a top school. It's a TTTT that tries to say that it isn't. It comes off as self-righteous, and comical in it's absurdity.

I can't take credit for this, and I don't know how to link to another TLS page, but this was the best description from Jayzon...

"You know at the bar, where there are a group of relatively unattractive women? You wouldn't usually just start calling them "fat" or "ugly," because it is rude and in poor taste. But if one of them is wearing a tube top and teeny shorts that say "SEXY" on them, you'll probably point out to your buddies that she is, in fact, atrocious?

Cooley wears "SEXY" shorts."

This will always be Nightrunner's most enduring contribution to TLS, and maybe the world.

I almost fell for the cooley law school rankings before I came across the US News rankings a couple of years ago...

EDIT: *sarcasm*

+1, and was it Nightrunner? I always forget, but I remember the first time I read I thought it was the greatest analogy ever.
