My Property final is 100 multiple choice questions - advice?

Post by ktc88 » Tue Mar 13, 2012 10:13 am

I did pretty well last semester after doing LEEWS and GTM and had the whole essay exam thing down. Problem is, multiple choice isn't my strong point, and my property final is going to be all MC.

I'm thinking I'm going to outline anyway because it helps me synthesize the course as a whole, and I was thinking about making my own notecards, but that seems like a major time sink. Does anyone have any suggestions for good commercial notecards?

Also, how to practice for the final and where to find MC questions?

I don't know how good the property questions are, but this helped me with Torts (my Torts professor writes questions for the bar exam). I used the PMBR multi state bar MC book and just did multiple choice questions from there. They will probably not reflect exactly what your professor wants, but it will help expose you to hypos, think about them in a multiple choice setting, and look through your outline so you know it better. Also maybe CALI would be useful, though I don't know what the quality is like.

BAR/BRI.

MC exams exist in law school because they mimic the bar exam & they are easy to grade.

Advice? -- killself.

Really though. Lexis Q&A's are multiple choice. Also, I've heard there is a good multiple choice supplement for estates and future interests, but I'm not sure what it's called.

Ask your professor if he or she recommends any good MC practice books. I had a half essay half MC property exam, and the professor recommended a certain book, which I purchased and went through. The professor used some questions nearly verbatium from that book - and one question sticks out in my mind, because while practicing I had got it wrong and learned why, so on the actual exam, I saw the question, must first instinct was again the wrong answer, but then something clicked in my head and said that my instinct was wrong then just as it was wrong during practice, so I switched it to the right answer.

Brush up on Future Interests. Its a clear cut topic that can be made into a whole section of MC questions.

Landlord Tenant stuff as well.

Just prepare for the final the way you would if you had just one issue spotter.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the suggestions. No tips from the professor.

I think I'm going to make a concise outline and then get my hands on as many objective questions as I can as suggested by this thread. Hopefully this class does not ruin my GPA.

Good luck. MC tests are a joke. I get top scores on all essays, but got median on a final that only had 24 MC questions.

I always make my own flashcards. The process of making the flashcards really helps me to memorize the stuff, so I see it as study time rather than a time sink.
