What's your class rank...what's the median...etc.

No rank out yet. Median is just below a B+, so I'm probably around top 40%.

Re: How are my prospects?
What school? USN rank doesn't really matter. Is it something like BU/BC?
But top 40% below T14 isn't a good place to be for biglaw.

My guess is you're not dead in the water for biglaw but definitely not safe.
Turn those B+'s into A-'s next semester and you'll be looking a lot better.

You're right on the edge. People with those stats and slightly lower will probably get big firm jobs, but not many. People with better stats will certainly strike out. Try to bring the grades up next semester and make sure you hustle when it comes time to hunt for a job.

Depends on school, work experience, interviewing skills, etc.
The door isn't completely shut but you aren't going to be getting an SA solely based on your grades, that is certain. Buckle down this semester and try to get yourself in the top third.

I'm at one of UIUC/UC-Davis/ND/IU-B.
Anything else I can do (other than grades and networking) to improve the odds?

It's kind of silly when you are secretive about your school in this thread and then elect to start a thread titled "IU-B 1L taking questions".fulphillment wrote:I'm at one of UIUC/UC-Davis/ND/IU-B.

This. No way 40% of people at IUB get biglaw. Gun for at least top 15% next semester.YourCaptain wrote:youre at iub so in very bad shape, good luck.
