Yeah this is a better way of expressing what I mean by the whole monomania thing. If you let the stress get to you and lose track of your hobbies, interests, intellectual curiosities, you will be miserable. My doom and gloom disposition the last month of the semester came not from the workload or exam stress, but from letting the stress stop me from: working out, et al.

Good thread, btw.

Meh, people complain a lot, but it's not so bad.
I don't like it when other people freak out, but I am pretty good at calming down other people so I feel useful when that happens.
All in all, it's not so bad. I just wish it was like the old days when all the folks that wanted firm jobs could get them and we could all live happily ever after.
Oh I'm a 2L, but that's what I thought last year too

Dislikes-
facebook posts about how difficult law school is. (probably because I remember how douchey it was when all my peers did it in '06).
People talking about how much time they spent in the library.
OCI (I'm a 2L)
Confused by-
How many virgins there are at my law school. Most of my friends were looking to lose their V-cards in high school, the fact there are 23 year olds who haven't known the opposite sex is astounding to me.

I don't know where all this virgin talk is coming from. If anything, I'd say my friends in LS are getting more action than my non LS friends.

Now that I've received emails from all my profs for next week, my official main dislike is: Over 100 pages of reading, 12 short answer questions and a 6 page LRW paper, all due on our first day back on Monday.
Along with that, my main dislike is the large quantity of reading and busywork which generally has no bearing on exams and little bearing on being an attorney.
I dislike that we don't get grades until, at the earliest, the end of January.
I like that the material isn't that difficult (just voluminous)
Over half my class is either married or in a LTR, so there's not a lot of 'action'. There are only like 3 single people in my whole section. Fortunately I'm a married so it makes no difference to me!

the weird thing about law school is the small size (and the drama that comes along with it) makes you feel like you're in high school again, but everyone is like mid-20s

I mean this is a top-law-schools.com forum, so many here probably focused a lot on studying throughout their young lives and ignored/failed at social interactions with members of the opposite sex. For instance, one kid I know goes to NYU law and is a virgin, another to George Washington... but my friends that go to Seton Hall and UConn have cleaned up. Correlation? I think so! I speculate that this mythical virgin school is a T14... someone please confirm/deny this?

I don't agree with this. One of my best friends goes to NYU law and is one of the biggest sluts I know. This is all just silly anecdotal evidence anyways.

That's where this came from.

I know I'm using anecdotal evidence, but can you tell me if your friend was like this before or after she got to NYU law?

What kind of schools do you dudes go to that there are so many virgins and that they would actually say they are.

The second part is what I don't understand. Why someone would advertise that or answer honestly if it were true is beyond me.

i dont even know what type of conversation you would have to be having where someone's status as a virgin would come up
Therefore I'm choosing to believe that the people claiming to be surprised at the number of virgins are either lying or projecting
