Would the numbers here be considered higher or lower than those of comparable law schools? Are TT-TTTT professors compensated similarly? Just curious.

Why do you need a FOIA request to get this information? It is a state school, so I would expect some sort of source out there that catalogs all the state employee salary information for you.

The issue at hand was bonuses and other "non-salary" payments that weren't already available online.

Ballin. That's a lot of money to teach a couple classes, get tons of time off, and get time away from classes to write.

what does "holds harmless BU retirement contribution" mean? On second page for Bone. I guess it describes his 11,715 in additional compensation.

He used to teach at BU forever. UT snatched him away with a higher salary... had no idea the salary was that high.Unitas wrote:what does "holds harmless BU retirement contribution" mean? On second page for Bone. I guess it describes his 11,715 in additional compensation.

I would imagine that it means something like BU contributes to his retirement but it is "harmless" since it he doesn't have to back there to teach or something?Unitas wrote:what does "holds harmless BU retirement contribution" mean?

That is insane. They should cap all law faculty salaries to what the federal judges gets in their district, if that.

The private school salaries would be interesting to compare with these.

Top privates are WAY higher. I am trying to remember what Kagan hauled in as dean of Harvard, but it destroyed what you see from UVA and UT's deans.quiver wrote:The private school salaries would be interesting to compare with these.

Hmmm so how do top public schools attract top professors (Mich, UVA, etc.)? Just by geographic location?Citizen Genet wrote:Top privates are WAY higher.
