I don't plan to work during my first year of law school.
But I do plan to work PT during the second and third years. I know that this is banned at some law schools. Some schools don't want their full-time students working at all.
Is it an honor code violation to still work, and could it lead to suspension?

The ABA prohibits full-time students from working more than 20 hours per week in their Standards for Accrediting Law Schools. Your school has a vested interest in NOT allowing you to break that rule.

ABA Standards for Approval of Law Schools 2011-12, Standard 304(f) A student may not be employed more than 20 hours per week in any week in which the student is enrolled in more than twelve class hours.1coolnerd wrote:I believe that the ABA prevents first-year FT law students from working.rinkrat19 wrote:The ABA prohibits full-time students from working more than 20 hours per week in their Standards for Accrediting Law Schools. Nothing about a specific 1L rule. Different schools may have different (stricter) rules. I've heard some allow even less than 20 hours.
