Foreclosure. f**kingf**kityf**k

Post by AlexanderSupertramp » Thu Nov 24, 2011 11:47 pm

I'm a 1L. Just found out my soon to be ex hasn't paid our mortgage since October. I have no money. I'm a law student. If I can't pull something together before the divorce how is this going to impact my financial aid prospects, bar application, job prospects??? I want to work for the government. I am so upset with that idiot! Any advice...please?

See an attorney.

This is not legal advise, but do you mean October 2010?

Oh, I called my attorney. She's out of town though. I just went through a mini freak out. I'm calming down. Why did I have to find this out right before finals????

Don't let it distract you from finals. Depending on who your mortgagee is, it could take many months before they decide to foreclose.

No, 2011. I got a letter (to me at my new address) saying that they'll start foreclosure process at 90 days late. I can catch it up eventually probably...but I can't keep doing it forever.

Its generally a long proces, not normally complete within a year of default. Banks want to work with lenders too because they lose alot of money in foreclosures, as do HOAs. Im not going to tell you not to worry about it, but see your attorney when shes back in town and relax abit and get some peace of mind. Don't let it interfere with your finals, because you will have plenty of time to arrange everything in time regardless of what happens. Focus on finals.

man i know exactly what you are feeling. albeit your situation is much worse. i bought really expensive earphones from this guy and a mutual aquaintence delivered it to me. opened it to find out it was used, busted, crazy glued back together, and other shit. all of which was happening during exam week. could not study for shit. it may seem extremely difficult, from my experience, but try your best to focus on your studying.

You're divorcing him because he couldn't pay the mortgage?

Bet all your money on Alabama over LSU. Alabama will cover the spread.Vegas will give LSU an edge due to the hype. Take out a loan if you have to.

Lmfao^^^.
But seriously do the lawyer thing. And life is a constant kick in the ass. use this as a chance to prove to yourself that you can focus when worse comes to worst. Let yourself know that you are dealing with extra stuff, but this will make it way sweeter when you ace your exams. No one can say that you had it easy during finals, unlike those other guys you earned your grade while studying and dealing with extraordinary circumstances. Use this as a way to say "I c you life but, I got shit to handle"
