3L burnout

Post by VincentChase » Thu Nov 10, 2011 11:39 am

It's getting very, very, very difficult for me to get myself to read for classes these days, particularly if I have anything else whatsoever to do - writing papers for a seminar, clinic work, etc., etc.

I can't be the only one experiencing this, right?

Now that the professors have laid off the Socratic method, and I realize how much time preparing for class is time wasted, as they cover only a fraction of the assigned reading, it's just difficult to get up for things knowing that I'll be in the real world soon.

I guess this is a character flaw - they say character is revealed when others aren't looking!

But are some of the rest of you experiencing this, as well? Just looking to hear some others' experiences and give a chance to vent. My classmates and friends at my school, a T6, say they are, too.

see http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 3&t=168213 for evidence that you're a year late in experiencing burnout

2L here. Others will probably chime in with advice to exercise and eat well.

But I have to say this is the main reason I'm considering bumping up the number of units I'm taking next semester including the journal note. I figured I might slack off even more next year.

+1.

The only thing I'm really doing is Moot Court assignments, because my teammates depend on me, and working on my required paper class for graduation. I haven't read since mid October.
