How did you pay for/are going to pay for law school?
Just curious. Is it from loans, parents, salary from a couple of years, etc?

I think the most common answers are going to be (1) loans, and (2) assuming a new name and moving to a country with weak/no ties to the U.S.

Mainly loans. Some grants (from law school I transferred to). Good portion of 1L tution covered by scholarship. Also using some money I saved during three years of pre-law school work.

Loans and hopefully some 2L SA salary, unless NU feels like giving me any scholarship money.

A lot of you guys saying that you are relying on loans makes me happy I'm in Canada where law school is SO much cheaper and I can rely on a loan from my parents.

How is law school in Canada compared to law school in the States? Is it worth the lower price? U.S. law schools are so freaking expensive, maybe I should have gone to Canada too.

Well, hopefully salary. I couldn't burden my parents to pay for my law school considering they paid for undergrad (well, living expenses, because school was free), but I assume that if shit goes really bad, they'll help me make loan payments until I can get on my feet.

I certainly hope not. Gloating that you live in Canada, so you can get cheap law school tuition, is sort of like gloating that you're a double amputee, so you can get these neat hooks where your hands used to be.rinkrat19 wrote:So you made this thread to gloat, then?redgreenpaper wrote:A lot of you guys saying that you are relying on loans makes me happy I'm in Canada where law school is SO much cheaper and I can rely on a loan from my parents.

Loans (and any potential merit-based scholarship) will pay for tuition, books, everything else under the academic umbrella, but family said they'd offset living costs. Good guys, they are.

If all the schools were the same tier, then technically there wouldnt be a tier system?Bildungsroman wrote:How nice for you. TTT doesn't refer to being in the third tier, it refers to have the qualities of a third tier shithole.Fedorov91 wrote:If all the schools were the same tier, then technically there wouldnt be a tier system?Bildungsroman wrote:How nice for you. Schools aren't terribly restrictive based on geography. Usually people go where they want to live, but look at the big firms the students will be mostly from that cities school - but also some from across the nation.Bildungsroman wrote:TTT doesn't refer to being in the third tier, it refers to have the qualities of a third tier shithole.Fedorov91 wrote:If all the schools were the same tier, then technically there wouldnt be a tier system?Bildungsroman wrote:How nice for you.
