Recourse? Like what? I'm pretty sure all state bar exams are the same day, except for New York, which is on a Thursday so you can do (for example) Tuesday NJ, PA, CT, etc., Wednesday MBE, Thursday NY. Other than that, I think if you want to take the bar in two states you'd have to do one in July and one in February.

According to both state's websites NY and PA are on the same day unless I'm missing something.

Sorry, it's actually NJ that's staggered, not NY. I know a bunch of people at my school take both and I assumed it was NY with the off-schedule date since people in other states might want to take NY also.
