Law Review Topic

Post by interalia504 » Thu Aug 25, 2011 1:18 pm

Hey Guys. I simply cannot find a law review topic. I had one that seemed promising, but then learned it was pre-empted. I have been researching WestLaw and Lexis constantly to no avail. Does anyone have any emerging legal issues that would make for a good topic? I'm desperate. Thanks.

I don't have one, but I recommend just paying attention to your classes, the news, and legal websites without specifically searching for a particular topic. I think it works sort of like dating- you won't find something good until you stop being desperate.

SCOTUS opinions were issued 1-2 months ago. Find one and case note it.

I used google news. I was on a tax journal so I just googled "tax laws" and saw what news stories came out.
There were a few issues that had potential...I picked one and wrote on it.

Thanks guys. I procrastinated all summer about finding a topic. I can only blame myself.
