Class Credit for Law Review?

Post by LawWeb » Wed Aug 17, 2011 12:30 pm

Appreciate if you can help with this info: does your school give class credit for Law Review participation (name the school and y/n would be great, and then any details about how much credit/stips/requirements)?

Michigan. Not for LR participation but you can take research credits for writing your Note. (Up to three I believe.)

At Ohio State, you get three credits for LR your second year unless you botch the note so poorly that it's deemed not to be a good faith effort.

Colorado Law Review: 1 credit per semester 2L year so long as you do what's assigned to you. 2 credits (plus small stipend) for editors 3L year; 3L staff members can opt for 1 or 2 credits depending on how many hours they want to put in.

SMU gives you 5 credit hours to use as you wish. You can't use more than 3 your 2L year, but after that it's fair game. You can save and use all 5 your last semester if you want, and only have to take a couple classes.

If you get kicked off of LR, they take back any hours you've used.

Arizona State: 1 or 2 credits total for Staff Writers (depending on the length of the Comment or Note). 2 units per semester for Executive Board, and 1 credit per semester for the rest of the Editorial Board.
