Annual Campus Parking Fee
How much does your school charge for annual campus parking?
In a recent poll 40% of those polled said they used public transportation. This outcome begs the question of the annual campus-parking fee.

For me, and I'm guess others who are living in a large city, the problem isn't just the price of parking at school, but also the price of a parking permit for your building or a permit for street parking. I'll definitely miss my car.

I have no idea. It's part of our student fees, but the law school has its own garage right next to that portion of campus. No undergrads allowed.

bicycle > car
But I think they go for ~$500 for a garage pass.

Re: Annual Campus Parking Fee
My school offers several different price ranges. In UG parking was slightly under $100. The lowest parking fee for law school is for the parking area furthest from the law school building. I am opting for a slightly higher fee that falls into your $750-$1000 range. I think the fee is high but less than half of the big city northern school I considered. . .which was close to $2,000! Hard to understand why parking is so expensive and why it is not included as part of the tuition.

This. School parking is pretty much the same cost as a discounted transit pass for us, but the added price of garage parking in my building makes it much more expensive.cinephile wrote:For me, and I'm guess others who are living in a large city, the problem isn't just the price of parking at school, but also the price of a parking permit for your building or a permit for street parking. To beg the question doesn't actually mean to beg the question, which is why I hate the phrase and can never remember what it actually means. I think it means to obviate the question, which doesn't mean "to make obvious". Anyway, it's a stupid phrase for not meaning what it says.

$150 a semester, not too bad considering there is a lot literally next to the law school building

Re: Annual Campus Parking Fee
pitt is 350 a semester. Parking is on the opposite side of campus, while the bus stop is literally in front of the law school. The bus pass is pre paid with your tuition money ( so you dont have to pay more to ride the buses) and runs from 6 until 10ish ( depending on whatbus you are taking).
