What exactly is desired here? A form to upload and label outlines, along with a categorized listing?

Just import your outlines to google docs, publish as a web page or pdf and post the link.

Categorized outline bank (sortable by school and professor) with a rating system, a comment system, and a profile for each outline with details about the outline. Either anonymously posted or TLS username attached. Boom.Corwin wrote:What exactly is desired here? A form to upload and label outlines, along with a categorized listing?

Does TLS have that capability?chimp wrote:This would be stellar.Bronte wrote:Categorized outline bank (sortable by school and professor) with a rating system, a comment system, and a profile for each outline with details about the outline. I'd really like to see the idea of boards going for the different core classes, complete with outlines, cases, exam strategies, whatever. Or at the very least maybe mega threads in the class of '14 board

I feel like there's got to be an easier way than having a megathread.NYC Law wrote:Does TLS have that capability?chimp wrote:This would be stellar.Bronte wrote:Categorized outline bank (sortable by school and professor) with a rating system, a comment system, and a profile for each outline with details about the outline. Hrm, that sounds really useful. I may have a crack at this next week (busy at work this week). I would definitely appreciate if people would continue to post what they would find useful in such an outline bank, so if I do try it I can at least make something useful.chimp wrote:This would be stellar.Bronte wrote:Categorized outline bank (sortable by school and professor) with a rating system, a comment system, and a profile for each outline with details about the outline. Problem is the outlines have no reviews. There's no quality control.Blessedassurance wrote:Looks pretty neat. You've tried it I presume?CCoolidge wrote:outlinedepot.com

Yup, and can only preview the first few pages, so you really can't tell if the outline is total crap or not. The biggest issue is that is costs a decent amount of money per outline download. If it takes you an average of 3 downloads to get one good outline, you're out a decent chunk of change. They claim that you can download free outlines if you upload, but they never accept anything. I had classes where I got the book award and they still rejected my outlines... I was only desperate enough for an outline in one course (that I couldn't get elsewhere for free) that I paid for it at outlinedepot. It was a decent outline, but a free bank would still be nicer. I don't think people contributing would even be an issue. But they're a for-profit company, and it's a way for them to make money off a service that could easily be replicated for free.SilverE2 wrote:Problem is the outlines have no reviews. A separate place to post attack outlines / checklists would also be helpful. Those can sometimes be the most useful across professors/casebooks because basic elements of the law remain the same.
Great idea!

Re: Who is going to make a TLS outline bank?
Honestly, I can't believe this has not yet been added. It's a great idea. The problem with outline depot, is that they have an exchange policy; for every one outline you upload, you can download one other person's. This encourages people to upload as many outlines as possible, regardless of quality. If the TLS outline depot were free/the only reward was more TLS street cred, this would really alleviate the quality problem. Only the occasional flame poster would put up a bad outline, and the ratings feature would then allow it to be separated out.

Man, how'd it take so long for someone to come up with this idea?
You guys can have mine, but I reckon they are pretty useless to people who are not me. I include phrases to jog my memory that I doubt anyone else will get.
