Sell my PS3?
Well Im starting in about a month and a half. I was wondering if any of the current students here have PS3s or XBOXs and whether I should just sell it rather than keep it around and possibly having it be a distraction. How busy are you guys and do you need some mindless entertainment, or would it be better to be 110% focused on schooling?

You will totally be fine keeping it unless you have absolutely no self control. For at least the first half of the semester, excluding memo/brief, you will have lots of time to do fun things.

You are an adult, you don't need to ask the internet whether or not you can keep your PS3. We are not your parents.

Re: Sell my PS3?
I left my PS3 at home for 1L and it was probably a good decision. Although it would've been fun.

Id barely call myself an adult. I guess Ill just hold onto it for now, I dont plan on getting cable and so the bluray+netflix combo might be a good way to relax.

We can give him back his PS3 for now but only if he promises to call us while he's gone. He never calls us anymore.Ford Prefect wrote:You've grown so much this thread. I'm proud of you.

Sometimes you guys are just smothering. I may not be an "adult" yet, but I'm not 13 anymore.Ford Prefect wrote:Nate, please, not right now...I'm trying not to cry.naterj wrote:We can give him back his PS3 for now but only if he promises to call us while he's gone. Re: Sell my PS3?
I would sell it or just leave it at my parent's house if it was me. I didn't really read the thread but I'm thinking it will be a distraction. I've known kids at the local T40 who would skip classes during ugrad to play Halo. Unless you aren't really into your gaming, don't bring it.gtrwanka wrote:Well Im starting in about a month and a half. I left my PS3 at my parents place my 1L year. With that said, I should have brought it with me. For the most part, you have tons of spare time, other than right before finals. Law school is a lot of work, but the workload is not more than say a full-time job. Unlike undergrad, you can't skip classes/not study and still get As. But, if you do your reading each day (attend classes + maybe 2 hrs of reading/etc each day) you will be fine. Granted, before finals you will have to do some serious studying.
Disclaimer: Each person is different. The above is just my experience.

Keep it. If you didn't have one, I'd recommend buying.

Re: Sell my PS3?
Bring your PS3.
You will have times to fit a game in here or there daily and at least on the weekends. This does not mean a 5 hour gaming binge daily. Rather, you can still fit in an hour or two before bed.
I start my days at 7am and do nothing except study until 7pm. From 7-8 I workout and shower. 8-10:30 I game.
I think keeping yourself off facebook / twitter / the internet during your library / study hours is as big of if not larger possible distraction.

Seriously? Sometimes it seems like people on these boards are incapable of making their own decisions.
Keep the PS3 bro. You'll be fine, and if you eat your vegetables, you can play for 30 minutes before bed.

I have a PS3, but it's on the west coast, and I'm on the east coast, so I don't play it too much. World of Warcraft... that's a different story (but not much during school).

All work and no play makes jack fucking insane.
Seriously, yes, you'll be busy, but you WILL have time to relax, and video games are a wonderful way to zone out for awhile, which is what you need to do to let your subconcious organize all the new information you're learning.

I sold mine (and every other thing of value) just so I could float through law school. My daddy isn't rich like most law students though.

Speaking of rich daddies, who's going yachting this weekend? My servants think they're getting the weekend off. Oh my how wrong they are.
