Jesus. Really?
Go to Target and buy a Swiss Army bag for like $60. Done.

I would recommend something with two shoulder straps, zippers, and some sort of compartment that can hold your stuff. I hope this helps.

the last backpack I bought was a Jansport back in 1998. still works great ( to be honest I bought it when I was a freshman in HS- and didnt use it much).

If you really want to be in the top 10%, you need to focus on finding a rolling-backpack.

Buy a decent quality back pack that can hold 2-3 casebooks (I rarely carried more than 2 and I tended to read/study at home and not use the lockers much). Also, a separate padded compartment for a laptop is nice.
I bought this bag -

It worked well for me.

LOL. It's a backpack. Not a big decision.

+1. I perused one, carefully considered which of those decisions seemed right, then realized I was crowdsourcing my life and said fuck it and went to Cooley at sticker (in backpack terms)

+1, Generic black Jansport, bought it 7 years ago, Penny's was selling them for $5 at the time, I've used it and abused it for all of that time and I'm gonna ride it till it dies. It's a damned backpack for gods sake, don't over think it.

Whatever you do, make sure to doublebag your textbooks.

There should be a question on LS applications to the effect of: "did you feel the need to ask an anonymous forum what BACKPACK you should get for 1L year?" If yes, auto-reject.

Just got mine yesterday. I love it! Maybe your school has one like it. I took a few photos, but do not know how to post them from my Blackberry.

It doesn't matter what kind of backpack you get. Jesus christ. It doesn't matter anymore now than it did when you were 12 years old.

I cast a liquification spell on my books which turns them into water and then I solidify them back into book form when I get to class.
Otherwise, I just used a regular backpack. Anything works really.

I don't get it either. Everyone should be allowed one mistake thread like this before we make them carry our books for us.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
