For every 30k new legal jobs created each year, there are 45k new lawyers. 1/3 of JD grads are boned. Don't be one of them.

Plus its worth remembering that about half of that 45k come from schools that aren't even ranked.gwuorbust wrote:Question TLS: I hear this 30k legal jobs number thrown around all the time. Then its worth remembering that a bunch of that 30k are probably near-unlivable salaries.

Re: In dire need of inspiration
also, I loved seeing this
Such debt would be manageable if a world of lucrative jobs awaited the newly minted attorneys, but this is not the case. A recent working paper by Herwig Schlunk of Vanderbilt Law School contends that with the exception of some of those at the best schools, going for a law degree is a bad investment and that most students will be "unlikely ever to dig themselves out from" under their debt. This problem is exacerbated by the existing law school system.

Can't believe schools like Thomas Jefferson Law actually make you pay just as much as you would going to a Top 20 school...and that people would actually pay that..
