For a brief. I need to abbreviate Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. Is it "Fed.R.Civ.P."?

I think there is a space after each period. Other than that, it looks right to me.

Yup, page 17 of the new Bluebook, Bluepages Rule B5.1.3.

Example: Fed. R. Civ. P. 12(b)(6).

He said it's a brief, so technically, the Bluepages control. But the Bluepages make reference to R12, so your point is still relevant.
