i don't think most schools have a dean's list that allow more than 15% of the students to be on it.

My school doesn't even have a Dean's List. I would strongly advise against writing to your Dean.

There is a snowball's chance in hell that they will change the Dean's list requirement.

I think ours is more like top 25%, but I don't even know because Dean's List is really not all that big a deal. And no way they change it.

I would talk to your SBA, not the Dean. If it's bothering you, feel free to bring it up. I don't anticipate any negative reaction besides a possible "no."

Ours is top 1/3.

I don't see your Dean's list requirement going down as pretty much every school I know of in Minnesota has a 3.5 requirement for the Dean's list. Not only that, but as far as anecdotal evidence goes I only know of schools raising their requirements for the Dean's list. Macalester College is raising theirs to be a 3.7/3.75, but to be honest they have some pretty big grade inflation there so I can understand that.

Now, why on earth do you want to lower the gpa requirement for the Dean's list? I don't know of anyone that really cares about someone making the dean's list, only that they have a good overall gpa or high class rank. For some reason I can see this devolving into a flame war between "hard science" majors and the humanities etc.

If you care this much about the Dean's List, you're doing it wrong.

My school has one of these Dean's lists. They actually circulate a public version of the list and release it, so that people on the list can get accolades and feel important.

I had my name taken off the list. I can't believe you want to lower the requirement so that you can get more people on it. Why are lawyers so pretentious and elitist? Why the constant need for affirmation? Things like this and law review (which I also turned down) are major problems with the "legal profession."

You've been on this site for two years, isn't your gimmick getting old by now?
I know that you wish this was a gimmick. Sadly for your ilk, it is not.

Don't worry about me, I feel sad for the 'ilk' that have to put up with you in class.

Yea, don't complain.

Ours is 3.5 (which translates to about top 10%).
