Evidence E&E: Which edition?

Post by traehekat » Wed Jan 05, 2011 12:50 pm

I've heard the Evidence E&E is pretty solid, so my only question is whether I can get away with an older edition. Any thoughts?

I think you'd be fine with an older edition. Not much changes from year to year with regard to evidence. Most of the cases we read in my evidence class last semester were older cases. Probably the most recent one we read was Crawford, which you'll almost certainly study, but that case was in 2004 so even some older editions will likely cover it.

You can get away with an old edition. I did. I'd also suggest Understanding Evidence (liked this better than the E & E personally) and the Evidence Q & A.
