How can you guys use suppliments?
I've tried for Property and Civ Pro and the material is too different to even attempt it. Seems like a waste of time to me.

there're supplements keyed specifically to your casebook (though it might be late to start right now). also, the barbri civ pro 6 hour thing is pure gold.

Ah, that makes sense. But material seems straight forward enough. Remembering it all is the problem.dailygrind wrote:there're supplements keyed specifically to your casebook (though it might be late to start right now). also, the barbri civ pro 6 hour thing is pure gold.

Mind elaborating on why you think the barbri civ pro lectures are so good? If they're that good, I might have to try and find a login.dailygrind wrote:there're supplements keyed specifically to your casebook (though it might be late to start right now). also, the barbri civ pro 6 hour thing is pure gold.

Re: How can you guys use suppliments?
For me they just really sum everything up. The lecturer is engaging and enthusiastic and breaks everything down into a pretty simple step by step process for analyzing everything. I am through personal jurisdiction, subject matter jurisdiction and notice right now (the first two lectures) and it has really given me a great review of the concepts. If you feel like you already have a strong grasp, they may not be that helpful, but I was feeling kind of lost in a sea of Civ Pro and the lectures have been great for clarification so far.beach_terror wrote:Mind elaborating on why you think the barbri civ pro lectures are so good? I wouldn't use it to learn the whole course, but after doing all the reading and going to all the classes, it's helpful to get a concise re-explanation of the topics. The CivPro E&E seems to be useless for learning the Rules, but not for PJ and Erie.

I agree with this. I have done all the work for my class and was kind of struggling with organizing everything and really simplifying it. This is providing a great review of the topics and helping me organize my notes.NayBoer wrote:I wouldn't use it to learn the whole course, but after doing all the reading and going to all the classes, it's helpful to get a concise re-explanation of the topics. I'm currently outlining straight from Freer's hornbook (he wrote my text) and I seem to have a good grasp of everything so far. Maybe it'll be worthwhile to listen to it after I finish up my outline for a review and to make sure I'm hitting everything.jbarl1 wrote:For me they just really sum everything up. For anyone interested, although it's late in the game, Freer's hornbook is fan-fucking-tastic. If I could go back in time, I wouldn't bother with the text... I'd just read his hornbook.

If it's anything like his lecture, I can imagine it's a lot of help.beach_terror wrote:I'm currently outlining straight from Freer's hornbook (he wrote my text) and I seem to have a good grasp of everything so far. Oh wow, is he the barbri lecturer? Hah, that's hilarious. He came and lectured at my school on how to do well on exams, the dude is an awesome speaker.jbarl1 wrote: If it's anything like his lecture, I can imagine it's a lot of help.

suppliments seems like a waste of time to me. I've never had a question that a suppliment has been able to answer. Hornbooks excepted. Those are awesome.

If the Glannon Civ Pro books is that much different from your class, you've been attending the wrong lectures.

OP-Why do you post questions with the expectation that people will give honest, useful responses? Often, when other people post legitimate questions, the shit you post is useless at best.

If I was trying to learn civ pro from the casebook and my notes I'd be royally fucked right now.

Always curious what the jackass OP has to say about this.

Seriously...sometimes he isn't 100% clear (his section on 1367/Supp Jx comes to mind), and he can be a little weird (w/ the angels/gardening stories), but he's pretty great 95% of the time at crystallizing the relevant points and providing solid hypos w/ answers.SeymourShowz wrote:If I was trying to learn civ pro from the casebook and my notes I'd be royally fucked right now.
