Winter break plans?

Post by zeth006 » Sun Nov 21, 2010 8:21 pm

I'm normally not one to start threads full of flowers and bunnies especially when law students are infamous for being negative and pessimistic. But I figured I might as well start a thread designed to keep us motivated for finals in the meantime. It'll be one way to remind ourselves that the finish line isn't all that far off.

I guess one way to do this would be to ask what you guys plan to do for winter break.

Me: Do some leisure reading, meet up with buddies back home and with old friends I haven't talked to in the longest time, do a Vegas trip or two, StarCraft, and just spend time with family.

No plans to read spring semester casebooks or supplements of course...

My husband and I have been separated for a year and a half (minus weekends here and there, obv) between his deployment to Iraq and waiting for his orders to get up here to DC from Savannah.

I will be spending a lot of...ahem...quality time with the hubs. We should be finding out the gender of the kid I'm currently incubating on Wednesday (if he/she cooperates on the ultrasound), so we'll be doing some name picking, deciding what color to paint the nursery, that sort of thing. Also hosting a huge Christmas party at the house.

So, nothing even remotely law related. Whee!

Work full-time, knock out a brief for moot court, and hopefully get cranking on next semester's independent research project.

Last year I did an internship at a firm that led to a summer job and some good experience to put on my resume before transferring.

This year I plan on traveling around my home state.

Cross-country vacation, eat and drink self into oblivion, look for work, etc. Might go all mad gunnerish and skim through an E&E on the plane rides, but I'll probably just sleep; it seems more productive and enjoyable.

...

Oh, crap, and I need my wisdom teeth taken out. FML.

I bought 4 PS3 games during my Black Friday shopping, so I would imagine the majority of my time will be spent playing those.

I read the first sentence of the OP and read on expecting flowers and bunnies.

Disappointed.
