apparently it's because I haven't been spending enough time with her due to my studying for law school finals.

I'm not sure what to think right now...other than to ask is this an indication that I might be studying too hard? Or should your significant others be feeling deserted when you're clamping down on studying for finals?

I guess the worst thing about this whole ordeal is after she broke up with me, the first thing that came to my mind was I still have to finish my outlines for torts by next week.

Not enough info to make a determination. If you've been ignoring her since the semester began, then her argument may have some merit, but if you've been accessible until recently and have started to sequester yourself due to it being crunch time, then she's being unreasonable.

Seriously, F that girl. If she was serious about spending her life with you in the first place she would make concessions so that you could do well in LS. Success in LS equates to career success (for the most part). She should be supportive of that. Continue to do really well and meet someone else who will appreciate you (your money).

law school breakups are usually an excuse for something else. also, if she really can't deal with you focusing on LS finals, I'm not sure how she'd be able to handle the demanding and sporadic time committments you're going to have to make to your job when you're a lawyer.

You would have been involved with a girl when you went to law school who was probably just waiting to find someone else and dump you, and you would be ignoring the pretty girls you meet at 0L orientation.

I doubt she would appreciate you mentioning her sexual status when you got together, but sometimes things just aren't right.
You should just thank God that He saw fit to make her break up with you, because if she had stayed with you just because she had initially thought you would be together forever, you would have eventually regretted your relationship and by then maybe been stuck in a bad marriage.

It's true that in a relationship you need to admire things in each other. If my bf was lazy or didn't have any ambition, we'd break up in about 5 minutes.

Don't wait for her to come back to you though. 1. because doesn't sound like this is relationship you should want to be in 2. because she will come back quicker if you try to get over her (seriously not by turning into some creepy sleaze)

I live with my girlfriend but we see each other 2 hours a day tops. I leave for school at 7:30 and come back around 9 p.m.. I warned her I will be like this constantly before this year began. When she asked why I kept bringing it up I told her I didnt want there to be any surprises. I also told her she can pretty much forget about me for the two weeks after the open memo is due through the end of finals. In that case I'm gonna agree with Booyakasha et al. and say law school might not be the only issue in her mind. It's probably a factor, but for most people that alone wouldn't justify ending a serious relationship - I mean, unless we're talking about really egregious neglect, like going days without being able to make 10 minutes to talk.
