I think you should be OK. If everyone hears and has access to the same information, the curve will presumably remain unchanged.

Re: PISSED
i share your frustration. some of my profs have started giving the class tips on how to study / do well on exams.
I figure if you already know the stuff they are saying and most of the class doesn't, then you're probably a couple steps ahead. i'm sure there's a lot of factors to getting good grades, but being ahead of the class strategy-wise is probably a good thing.

But the curve isn't based just on access, it's based on how people use info to which they have access...which is based on intelligence, which is already "curved."Helmholtz wrote:Provided some didn't already have access to that information previously.MrKappus wrote:I think you should be OK. But the OP had access to outside knowledge that would help her go above what she would with equal knowledge.MrKappus wrote:But the curve isn't based just on access, it's based on how people use info to which they have access...which is based on intelligence, which is already "curved."Helmholtz wrote:Provided some didn't already have access to that information previously.MrKappus wrote:I think you should be OK. I find it amusing that you somehow are offended that your professor is telling the class what she expects you to do on her exam.

Re: PISSED
I thought you were implying in your post that the curve should not change if access to information more difficult to attain than the professor simply stating it was then converted to "freely" given information (yes, it's still not free in the sense that you actually have to show up for class and listen to the professor, but you get my point). For example, let's say it takes me five hours to find information that will aid me in taking an exam, but then that same information is given in class the next day to everybody, even those people who didn't put in the work to finding that information. It seems to me that the curve shifts when virtually free access is given to information that previously did not have that free access. I think we were talking about the curve changing, not about one sole factor (i.e. access to information) deciding the curve.MrKappus wrote:But the curve isn't based just on access, it's based on how people use info to which they have access...which is based on intelligence, which is already "curved."Helmholtz wrote:Provided some didn't already have access to that information previously.MrKappus wrote:I think you should be OK. Reminds me of the guy showing me his copy of "GTM." The way he was shielding it so others could not see, I felt like he was trying to sell me drugs. (had to quickly put my wallet away once I realized what was going on.)

Don't worry OP. I'm sure you're still the only one who knows about supplements. Top 5% for sure!

I don't tell my competition I'm using supplements. I'm doing my thing, they can do theirs. I won't be doing anything that could help them out. You wouldn't tell the opposing team what plays you're running, even though you're playing the same game, would you?inchoate_con wrote:So you think he's serious? Damn....
