One month in and I feel like I am...
finish the sentence...
for me, thinking like a lawyer and considering scope, line drawing, and policy concerns
and also realizing that the amount of work will not let up for a second.

spent a year working and was never much or a studier in undergrad but the overall weight of the importance of doing well has me efficently studying my ass off

Re: One month in and I feel like I am...
Much more of an alcoholic than I was in undergrad. But, I also think I spend more hours in the library in any given week than I did in my entire undergrad career combined. So to answer the question I'm one month in and I feel like I'm completely balanced, and starting to get the hang of things.

I'm a month in 2L and I'm drowning in work. Advice to the wise: Don't sign up for every single thing that comes to you during 2L. I'm mentally exhausted.

Glad I'm not alone...well kind of, because it sucks and I wouldn't wish it on someone else just to have a compatriot. Get some (mental) rest!rbgrocio wrote:I'm a month in 2L and I'm drowning in work. I'm good now. Bit of a rocky start.....but I'm good. My only wish was that Legal Writing was pass/fail like at most law schools around the country

Re: One month in and I feel like I am...
honestly, the work is not THAT hard... it is just very time consuming. First midterm today... 8 hour exam in contracts
750 word max though so it really shouldn't take the whole 8 hours. we are just given a bunch of cases and a fact pattern and we have to apply the law from the cases to our case

:waves:
Personally, I'm not particularly looking forward to it, because I feel like I'm going to want to use most of my time and so it's pretty much going to kill my entire weekend.
As for right now... I feel pretty solid about where I'm at, but grades on a curve scare the crap out of me.

I concur, 2L is so much worse than I'd ever imagined.rbgrocio wrote:LoriBelle wrote:Glad I'm not alone...well kind of, because it sucks and I wouldn't wish it on someone else just to have a compatriot. lol... It is just that as a 2L you are involved in too many things. I wish the day had 30 hours. I have two jobs, plus I'm a research assistant;I'm a full time student, and I'm on LR. Now that I think about it 1L wasnt THAT BAD. LOL

I did not know anything at the beginning of the semester. After a semester in law school I realized that a lot of those who sounded smart did not actually know anything. Don't feel bad. You will get the hang of it.

That's practically the main reason I visit the gym religiously 5-6 days of the week out of 7.

not working as hard as I should. I do most of my reading 30 minutes to an hour before class.
