Hey,
Last year I withdrew from a class I attended for 5 weeks out of 13. Unfortunately I have the big ole "W" after withdrawing due to feeling like dying every day (undiagnosed diabetic condition ... all through law school!).
It's taught by the same professors and the material looks exactly the same. Is this a OK to do? I feel a little weird considering it's the same syllabus as last year, meaning I'll have a 5 week advantage over the other students. Is there anything I should be concerned about, re: professors in class holding me to a different standard, employers thinking it's unfair to do?
Thanks for any answers !

Wouldn't this be a good question for your school?
I am sure people here can endlessly debate whether you will or will not have an unfair advantage and ruin the curve, but what's the point? Just ask your school whether this is permitted and retake if you can.

It's permitted, the class is on my schedule. Just taking a shot if anyone had any knowledge basis on this subject.

I personally did that in college. Withdrew from a course with a "W." Re-took it next semester. If the school lets you do that, why not?

Though never dropped any courses myself, I saw this plenty of times in my undergrad. Dropping and retaking core major weed-out classes was a standard occurrence. At what point should one concede that a specialization is not for them and start looking elsewhere, is, of course, a different question.
